Dear Westlake High Families,  

It is time for the PTSA to elect its Executive Board for the 2014-2015 School Year.
 Below is the proposed slate submitted by the WHS PTSA Nominating Committee.  The elections will be held at our next Association meeting, March 6, 2014 at 9:15 in the Staff Cafeteria.  In addition to the individuals on the proposed slate, nominations can also be made by sending an email to the Nominating Committee Chairperson, Denise Reader (denise@readercpa.com) or from the floor at the March 6th meeting.

PTSA Honorary Service Awards

Dear Westlake Staff, Faculty and Parents,

The PTSA is looking for individuals to recognize with its annual Honorary Service Awards.

Nominated individuals to be considered are those who have made a significant contribution to the well being of children, youth or families in our school and/or community. Staff and faculty award recipients will be recognized at the April PTSA meeting. Parent award recipients will be recognized at the PTSA breakfast in June.

There are four awards to consider:

  • Very Special Person Award (VSP)- May be given to an individual to recognize IMPORTANT service to children/youth
  • Honorary Service Award (HSA)- May be given to an individual or organization in the PTSA, school or community in special recognition of OUTSTANDING service to children and youth.
  • Continuing Service Award (CSA)- May be given to an individual or organization in the PTSA, school or community for recognition of outstanding service to children/youth. This award may be given to a person whose contributions have been SIGNIFICANT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. This award is usually given to someone who has already received an HSA
  • Golden Oak Award- This is California State PTA’s most prestigious award, This award is given to an individual who has made SIGNIFICANT contributions to the welfare of children/youth in the school and/or community. This award should be given to recognize EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE to children/youth.
Please send all nominations to Ron Lipari at rlipari@conejousd.org or you can leave a printed copy in his mailbox no later than Monday, March 10th. with the following information:

Please join us for our 2014 monthly Association Meetings in the Staff Cafeteria at 9:15am on the following Thursdays:

March 6 - English teachers, Lora Novak and Danielle Mier, will be talking about the new Writing Center and the Common Core curriculum for English. 
April 3
May 1
June 5

At each meeting, we will discuss what activities the PTSA is working on and feature a speaker on topics of interest to parents at WHS.  Speaker topics will be announced beforehand in our weekly email blast. All parents are welcome!
